Holy crowdfunding – the Pittsburgh Technology Council (PTC) recently shortlisted Small Change as finalist for “Start-Up of the Year” as part of their annual Tech 50 awards. We’re honored!
As the PTC says, “The Pittsburgh Technology Council’s annual Tech 50 Awards recognize southwestern Pennsylvania’s most successful, innovative, and thought-leading technology companies, which have become the backbone of Pittsburgh’s innovation economy. The awards represent transformative tech companies at all stages of growth.”
And growing we are. Our platform has now catalyzed impactful real estate projects in Washington DC, Los Angeles, our hometown of Pittsburgh and New Orleans. Best yet: our last offering in New Orleans allowed anyone over the age of 18 to invest.
“Crowdfunding is the new community banking,” says our founder and CEO, Eve Picker. “We created our platform as a way for people who are champions of their neighborhoods and cities to directly invest and have a stake in seeing these places thrive. To be recognized by the Tech Council for this work makes us feel we’re on the right path to making change for all.”
Tech 50 winners will be announced on October 12, 2017 at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh. We can’t wait for the event. Check the Tech 50 site for more and get regular Twitter updates on Tech 50 by following @pghtech and #pghtech50.
