It’s been a long time coming. This Friday, it appears that the SEC’s five commissioners will come together to vote on and approve final Title III rules – aka the “crowdfunding component” of the 2012 JOBS Act.
What does that mean? It means that non-accredited investors will be able to invest in real estate through investment crowdfunding platforms. And this will unlock untold economic potential.
Once the SEC votes on the final rules, there will be a 60-day waiting period before the rules go live. After that, platforms will be able to apply for Title III compliance. On May 16, 2016, approved Title III platforms can go live and offer both accredited and non-accredited investors the chance to invest in real estate online. We hope they invest through Small Change, so that their investment dollars make change in more ways than one.
Here comes the crowd!
